Day 24

I have been trying to post for awhile but my Internet service is giving me trouble. Here is the "Reader's Digest"version of my progress thus far. Got to Day 18 of the Juice Fast and just couldn't hack it any more. I think it would have worked out great if I wasn't cooking meals for my family everyday and had the smell of food surround me. My cravings got so bad that I was afraid I was going to lock myself in the closet with a bag of Doritos and not come out until it was gone! Instead, I
added smoothies and soups to my diet. I eventually added salads and now I am trying a sorts of new recipes. My energy is back and last time I weighed myself I had lost 20lbs. Tomorrow is my official weigh/measure date and I am afraid I have gained some back BUT I am getting a lot more exercise now due to the energy boost. This was a bad time for me to juice fast apparently since I am under a lot of stress. Maybe I will try Juice Feasting at the beginning of the year. In the meantime, I am having a blast with all the new recipes. Even the kids like some of them! Well that is all for now. Until next time...

Day 13

This morning I woke up with less sinus mucus which is great because it was sitting in my stomach and making me feel nausea. Last night I was finally able to pick up my supplements at the health food store. I bought Psyllium Husk, Bentonite, Flax Oil, MSM, Bee Pollen, Digestive Enzymes, Kelp Granules and Cascara Sagrada. I already had raw honey and green powder on hand. I also have Acai powder which is really yummy. Anyway, all that "stuff" came to just under $100! I am picking up organic produce to last me about 2 weeks of juicing from my local co-op tomorrow and that should set me back another $100. Juicing ain't cheap!

Your probably thinking $100 for 2 weeks of food is a good deal but I have a husband and two kids to feed also! This lifestyle is definately going to shrink my wallet as well as my waist! Speaking of "shrinking," I weighed myself and took my measurements this morning and I have lost 17.5 lbs in under 13 days! I also lost 2" from my bust, waist and hips. 6" overall! Amazing! I was able to put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in quite awhile. I feel lighter and healthier already. I plan on only weighing myself and taking measurements every two weeks.

I had the Psyllium Husk and Bentonite powder last night in Pineapple juice and I think that helped me stop the liquid runs. I took a Cascara Sagrada this morning to make sure I don't get backed up now :o). I am not sure about doing coffee enimas but I would like to go get a colonic. That is another $100 I don't have right now :-(.

This morning's breakfast was herbal tea, purified water, and a Diablo Juice (recipe below). I took 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Oil, 1Tbsp Bee Pollen, 1 MSM cap and 1 Cascara Sagrada cap.

Diablo Juice:
2 naval oranges
1 red pepper
handful baby carrots
1/2 jalepeno pepper

92 Day Juice Feast

Okay, so I am starting this blog on day 12 of my Juice Feasting. Actually, I juiced one day then I did a MasterCleanse (that was supposed to last for 10 days but I could only handle 8 days) and now it is day 4 of Juice Feasting...but who's counting :p'

I am getting tired of writing in my spiral notebook a diary of what I am eating and how I am feeling. I can type so much faster and I can share my experience with the world. If you are not a supporter of what I am doing, please don't post comments to discourage me. I am in NO WAY telling anyone else how they should eat, I am only sharing my experience.

I hope to be able to keep track of some helpful website and YouTube videos on this blog as well. Hopefully I can save someone else out there that chore ;-). Anyway, my plan is to Juice Feast for 3 months and then convert to a completely Raw Vegan lifestyle. My inspiration came from a girl in the UK named Angela Stokes, who beat food addiction and lost 160lbs by changing to a Raw Vegan diet. She also looks amazingly vibrant and healthy!

I did go Raw Vegan for one week before starting the Juice Feast and I enjoyed the food very much. I just knew that my body needed to detox the remains of past binge eating on junk food and alcohol before I could make this major lifestyle change. Angela had been Raw for a couple years before her juice feast.

I hope you enjoy my blog. I hope to add photos and links soon!
Peace,
Rawkin Grl
